More than the election, fascism in America is the spirit of the time. For the past year, I’ve worked for people who really want you to know that they’re administrators in a college of visual art and design. They’re the boss. It’s been a year of constant degradation. Constantly being “put in my place.” The funny thing is — these people want to act like they’re anti-Trump in the same breath that they abuse power and push around the lowest ranking in their employ. In the words of Trump — because we are all infected by him — pathetic losers. Scum. I have never held myself to be less or better than other human beings. I take issue with their behavior – sure — but omething about this — about these little men — takes me to a place beyond reason. To the place that les sans culottes were when they watched the blade drop on their superior — and ironically, in the name of reason. Yet, I feel so weary, I can’t want that — can I?
